My New Bike

I finally got a new bike last week! It's another ZX7R, it's a 2001. It's in better shape than my last one was when I got it.

I got it expecting to paint it, but I don't think I will. I can keep my yellow gear, it goes fine with this bike.

Here is Lance wishing he was 16 already:

My Motorcycle Wreck

[1/26/2005]

Rear-ended on Interstate 10 on September 16, 2004... I was slowing for traffic and the guy behind me didn't. The police said I flew 45 feet and slid another 30 - in my opinion it was more like 45 feet TOTAL, I may have heard him wrong. The van that hit me was going about 50 when he hit, I don't know how fast I was going. I remember slowing for traffic, seeing him in my mirror, I remember hitting the gas to minimize impact. I started to decide where I was going to go (there was traffic in front of me), but I got hit too soon. I remember getting hit and flying about a foot from my bike and my memory ends. Next thing I remember I was being loaded into the ambulance. They said I was awake the whole time with no concussion, I just don't remember. Either way I am glad to be alive, I of course was wearing my gear and as a result I got only a scratch on my elbow and stiff muscles. It's a good thing when the biggest thing you have to worry about is the laptop in your backpack (which kicked the bucket). I'm just glad I wasn't pinched between the seat and the tank... At the time of the wreck my baby Lance was less than 2 weeks old. God was watching out Lance's daddy, of that I have no doubt.

I got vertigo from the wreck, which means they were wrong about the lack of a concussion. I am just glad I was wearing my helmet. That lasted for about a month or a month and a half, and even today my back is in pain. The doctor said I should not ride until the vertigo has been gone for six months, and I plan on taking his advice. But I will definitely ride again...

Back on Two Wheels

[1/6/2005]

I am excited because this weekend I am planning on going up to Phoenix to pick up a pair of stunt bikes for $600 each. Both are 600cc CBRs, a 2000 and a 2003. I am skeptical of the condition of the bikes, but for $600 they don't have to be in great shape. I may end up only getting one of them.

I am not sure if I am giong to register either of them for the street or if I will get a trailer. I am technically not supposed to be on the street yet because my vertigo could come back. I think it's best to listen to the doctor. I will most likely be getting another ZX7R for my street bike in a few months when I can ride again anyway.
